Frances Spady
Frances Spady loves to craft—when she has time, that is.
Between crafting and work, she likes to spend time with her
husband, her daughter and her daughter’s horse. Frances
loves animals, and her family always has to tell her she can’t
save them all. Annie’sBlankets thanks Frances for channeling
her animal-loving spirit toward the Birthday Benefit. We couldn’t
have done it without her! |

Brian Spady
Brian Spady loves to race his pro arena truck throughout the
west coast. While not signing autographs, he’s at home
playing handyman and building his new race truck. Brian likes
to get dirty without dragging too much dirt into the house.
Gotta love him! Annie’sBlankets thanks Brian for his ideas
for the Birthday Benefit and his contribution of iron artwork
to the silent auction. |

Anna and Ben Davis
When not shopping, driving golfcarts, or movin' to the groove,
Anna Davis can be found lovin' her dogs. Her brother, Ben, hangs
out with his dogs when he isn't playing video games, reading
Lord of the Rings or wrestling. Their mother, Kristin,
if not working (fat chance), can be seen riding her horse, the
"Devious Devonie". The family's four dogs, Misha, Yuki, Tallulah
Belle, and Shadrach, love to lounge around the house or chase
"kitties". |

Erin Chapin
Erin Chapin, a sixth-grader at the Lagunita School, is the proud
owner of three dogs, a cat, and two ponies. She is shown here
with Oreo, her Australian Shepherd, who is an excellent jumper
and a fantastic friend. When Erin isn’t riding one of her ponies
or playing the piano, she can be found zooming around Hidden
Canyon Farms in her golf cart. Scout says: “Erin’s a crazy driver
but a great kid!” Annie’sBlankets thanks Erin for all her excellent
ideas and enthusiastic support. |

Dan White
Meet Robert Earl, a black tabby who chose Dan White as his guardian.
The door was open at Dan's 'granny unit' in Pleasure Point,
California --- and Robert walked on in. He proved his mettle
by keeping out the raccoons and possums. Before you know it,
he had the run of a beach house down the street, and later,
an apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Robert, a
plump ottoman of a cat, is known for his gentle nature, his
empathy and his roly-poly figure. He sleeps most of the time.
Annie’sBlankets thanks Robert’s guardian, Dan, for all his great
ideas and enthusiastic support! |

Nancy Naudus
Nancy Naudus, of Scotts Valley, is spearheading Annie'sBlankets'
introduction to Santa Cruz County. She discovered Annie'sBlankets
after reading Peggy Townsend's article in the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
Retired from the Santa Clara Valley Water District, Nancy has
helped place Annie'sBlankets first two barrels in Scotts Valley,
at Roundup Pet Center and Scotts Valley Feed. She is pictured
with Nip and Tuck, two Jack Russell Terriers who have since
passed away. When she's not investigating potential drop-off
sites for Annie'sBlankets, Nancy volunteers at the Scotts Valley
Animal Shelter, spends time in her garden, shops at thrift stores
and rummage sales, and collects antique bottles. Annie'sBlankets
thanks Nancy for her enthusiastic efforts. |

Darla Smith
Darla Smith is a lifelong resident of Salinas. When she is not
busy working as an executive assistant at the Don Chapin Company,
a job she loves, Darla devotes her time and attention to animals.
Darla is involved in fundraising for the SPCA and other organizations
committed to helping animals, and she often fosters wayward
animals in need of a home. Darla enjoys spending time with her
own four pets: Digger, a twelve-year-old Dachsund who is the
love of her life, Jake, a Border Collie mix Darla rescued after
he was abandoned in a field, Sassy, a seven-month-old Chihuahua
mix and former stray that Darla adopted, and Jasper the cat.
Darla devotes what little time she has left to her husband and
nineteen-year-old daughter! Annie'sBlankets wishes to thank
Darla for encouraging donations to the barrel at the Don Chapin
office site and for contacting more businesses, such as the
Monterey Plaza Hotel, which has agreed to donate its old blankets
and towels! |
